The VTL explores technologies such as Motion Capture and 3D stereoscopic projection for use in live stage presentations as well as their use in film and video.
While initially focusing on productions, the VTL presently offers a series of classes specializing in VFX such as Greenscreeen, Motion Capture, and 3D stereo production as well as film acting and Motion Capture Acting. We also offer a certification of Motion Capture Systems Technician. Since most film visual effects are used extensively in horror, science fiction, and fantasy films, we offer a survey course of these films to give would be VFX artists inspiration and guidance.
Henry Ford Community College’s Virtual Theatricality Lab is dedicated to forging the live and film performance technologies of the 21st century and beyond.
